Author: Marcus   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 336
amiwm is an X window manager that tries to make your display look and feel like an Amiga Workbench screen. It is fully functional and can do all the usual window manager stuff, like moving and resizing windows. The purpose of amiwm is to make life more pleasant for Amiga-freaks like myself who has/wants to use UNIX workstations once in a while. It can also be used on the Amiga with the AmiWin X server, although this part needs some more work.

  An Iconographics Home Page
Author: Jack Perry   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1466
I didn't create the original Iconographics; Tom Ekstrom did. Instead, I created a few icons of my own, which I placed here. A couple of other people have submitted Iconographics to me, too, so I added them. These are for the Amiga microcomputer, by the way! Currently my Amiga is dead. I may or may not have another one soon, but until then, there will be no more Iconographics from me. :-( Sorry.

A freeware UNIX port of a program, is freely available, although it does require use of a CLI (Command Line Interface). I am currently working on my own version, but am struggling with the code for actually downloading the images themselves. Until an answer is found for this, the UNIX port will have to do. Alternativly, the Macintosh software will work with ShapeShifter, but it does need quite a bit of memory to do so, about 25Mb of FAST RAM.

  OVERSHAKERS
Author: OVERSHAKERS   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1333
This site is dedicated to the AMIGA computer, and mostly to the Amiga Workbench. Amiga Workbench has always been fast and efficient, but since the machine is getting old, the graphic aspect of the system is old, too. A program called VisualPrefs has been released to make the Workbench Gadget User Interface (GUI) look a bit nicer. The purpose of this website is to distribute alternative graphic systems for VisualPrefs and similar programs.

PhotoAlbum is the powerful picture management software for all Amiga users (with at least OS3.0) and Draco users. In conjunction with emulators like UAE it is also possible to run the program on other system platforms. It is especially designed for graphic board users with graphic boards running under the Picasso 96 software or under the CyberGraphX emulation. On such graphic boards pictures can be shown in highest 24Bit quality. Displaying will also usually be fastest on graphic boards, but can also be used on simple AGA Amigas with upto 256 colors for displaying. Supports 20 different file types.   This is the official RayLab home-page, where you will find the latest news and releases for all supported platforms. What is RayLab? RayLab is a so called raytracer, which means that it is capable of producing realistic three-dimensional pictures. The technique allows you to create very realistic (or surrealistic, if you like that better) objects with reflections, shadows, highlights, realistic textures etc.. RayLab is a text-oriented program, which means that the scenes are described in a special language. Better yet, RayLab is freeware! (Many different platforms)

  ScanQuix5
Author: Andreas Günther   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1815
ScanQuix is a scanner driver system for the Amiga and has become a well known standard solution for scanning on this platform during the last years. Different scanner models can be used uniformly by all programs, similarly to the use of printers with printer drivers. Of course, you can scan, display and save pictures with ScanQuix. But the outstanding characteristic is the ability of many graphic programs to use the scanner drivers directly. That is, you can scan the images without detour into your favourite graphic software. So there is no need for a software to supply its own drivers for each scanner any more, but only an interface to the ScanQuix system. Site in German and English

Yes I know - a mug! Well, as the OpalVision mailing list started to go quiet for a while, I thought I had better try and capture peoples experiences with Genlocks and the OpalVision and this FAQ is the result.

  XPM for Amiga
Author: Håkan Younes   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1751
The XPM image format defines how to store color images in a portable and powerful way. I have ported the XPM library, which provides a set of functions to store and retrieve images to and from XPM format data, to the Amiga platform. The port has been incorporated into the main distribution, thus making future enhancements directly available to the Amiga community. The XPM distribution is available at ftp://koala.inria.fr/pub/xpm/. To simplify the use of XPM images on the Amiga platform, I have also written a BOOPSI image class that acts as a wrapper for the XPM library functions. The source code is available on Aminet and the archive also contains a binary version of the XPM library.

XTrace is a vector tracer to convert bitmap pictures (e.g. IFF ILBM files) to vector pictures (e.g. AI, EPS, FIG, IFF DR2D or DXF files). It offers several operators to process bitmap and vector pictures and it even supports Bézier curves, XPK, clipboards, CyberGraphX/Picasso96, etc. As a very special feature, XTrace is able to save traced pictures as 3-dimensional logo for Michiel den Outer's "Navigator Titler" (Video Titler) and as 3-dimensional DXF files (to load them into raytracers). It is even able to load and trace Amiga fonts and save them as 3-dimensional fonts for the "Navigator Titler".
