  Smells Like Transmeta
Author: David Penn   Archived: 2001-06-17   Verified: Jan 03, 2026   id: 6040
{{ARCHIVED}} Could a legendary computer and a rebellious OS shine a little light on the shadowy Transmeta? Out of the batcave called Transmeta, where wealthy playboys mix with programming superheroes, may come the final ingredients in the computer of the future: a networked unit geared for maximum multimedia performance, with a "next generation" superprocessor equipped with a software-programmable microchip. Would you expect anything less from Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft and major Transmeta Corporation investor; Linus Torvalds, "father of Linux" and Transmeta's most famous employee; and the never-say-die true believers at Amiga?

Author: Michael Bohmer & Harald Frank   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 615
Getting Amiga and USB together. For quite some time it was not possible to use common USB devices with the Amiga. The missing part was on the one hand a hardware USB controller and on the other hand the USB stack. This has changed since the Amiga trade show 2001 in Cologne, Germany. Meanwhile we can offer two tailormade USB controller solutions for the Amiga computer series: SUBWAY: Clockport controller for Amiga 1200 compatible clockports HIGHWAY: Zorro II controller card for "big" Amigas.   We've been using the AD516 card manufactured by Sunrize Industries for all of our recording work here at EMRL since 1996. At that point, it was already out of date, with Sunrize having stopped production and closed up shop in 1994, shortly after Commodore went bankrupt. AD516/AD1012/Studio16 Frequently Asked Questions

  The Amiga 1000 Parceiro
  Author: intric8   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2197
The Parceiro (sounds like par-say-ro) attaches to the side expansion port of the Amiga {1000} and is about the size of a harmonica that’s been run over by a steam roller as it’s only about 1/3 of an inch thick. It provides the following features: 8MB of Autoconfig Fast RAM. It is a single 8MB of SRAM versus DRAM, so it really and truly is indeed fast with zero wait states. Coin-cell battery backed Real Time Clock (RTC), which comes with its own clock software that gets put into your startup sequence. SD Card Reader with 2GB MicroSD. It comes pre-formatted with the FAT32 file system and is readable on any PC as a result. This way you can quickly set up your new SD-based hard drive.

  The Cursed Floppy Drive Stick
  Author:   Verified: Oct 06, 2026   id: 6100
Over the past month or so, I’ve resurrected my old Amiga 1200. I added a 2Gb SD card internally and set up a serial link to my PC. I needed software, so I downloaded an archive of 1000(ish) Fred Fish disks. Fred Fish was someone who published floppy disks with curated pieces of software and they were a gold mine. I bought a few over my years at Uni, and the one with SB-Prolog got me through my second year resits.

I expect to have the new site up and running shortly along with a new site location, no more annoying Tripod Banners and a new Domain Name for the Site. Your support is most appreciated and your emails most encouraging. This should be the last and final resting place for the BoXer Support Site. Please bare with me…

  The UnOfficial GVP-M A4060/A2060 Page
Author: Greg Donner   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 483
I've started this page in an effort to find and provide other GVP-M A4060/A2060 users with as many answers and resources as possible for these unsupported and mysterious 68060 accelerator cards for the Amiga 4000 and 2000 respectively. On June 9, 1999, I bought a refurbished Amiga 4000 (desktop) from Software Hut that came pre-configured with a GVP-M A4060 accelerator. Although the A4060 is a good accelerator, I have encountered some bugs and limitations that I am hoping my hosting this page will solve.

TigerTronics is an Amiga dedicated one-man company. The sole purpose of TigerTronics is to create good and stable Amiga peripherals at a reasonable price. Due to my financials TigerTronics have to be run as a parttime job, sharing time with my job as a programmer. This makes development somewhat slower, but ensures that I do not run out of money for the developments.
