  Jurassic Pack
Author: Jurassic Pack   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2028
Welcome To JP Online, The Website Of Jurassic Pack - The Lost Diskmag. JP is a grammalogue/shortening for "Jurassic Pack" which is the name of our computer scene related magazine, a so-called diskmag, for the Amiga computer. (It is no pack nowadays - although its name indicates the idea - but still 100% a diskmag!) If that does not interest you, you should not stop reading this homepage though! You might find some interesting things for you like graphics and musics for example.

  Matt Parsons AROS Page
Author: Matt Parsons   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2138
AROS is an attempt to build from scratch an AmigaOS 3.1 clone. Up to now this has been a slow process, but finally we have a working operating system. There is a whole lot of stuff missing, like networking, sound drivers and things like that, but it does have a simple desktop and a fully functional command line. On an internal level we have followed AmigaOS, except where we can speed things up or make them more modular by using a custom built object oriented system. AmigaOS was really quite object oriented as it is, all we are doing is upgrading the parts Commodore never had time to do. Also our OS is portable across computer platforms.

Meet new Amiga: Not like old Amiga
Author: John G. Spooner   Verified: Sep 15, 2026   id: 6048
Can the reconstituted company recapture its former glory? If it does, Linux, Java and Jini will loom large. Amiga fans wondering whether their beloved brand will recapture its former glory will need to wait a bit longer for a definitive answer. No, Amiga is not getting back into the PC business, per se. Instead, the reconstituted company acquired by Gateway Inc. a couple of years ago will supply operating system software and hardware reference specifications to makers of PCs and appliances. Amiga designs will use Linux as well as off-the-shelf components, such as Universal Serial Bus, for connecting peripherals.

  MenuetOS
Author: Ville Turjanmaa   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1916
MenuetOS is a cool OS written fully in 32 bit assembler. Thats why it's so fast and small. Menuet kernel with all applications fits a single 1.44 Mb floppy. But it is quite useable. MeOS supports 44 KHz stereo sound, 32-bit graphics up to 1280x1024, has quite good UI with mouse support.

  MenuetOS Dev Zone
Author: dietermarfurt   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1903
MENUETOS is a new open source 32 bit multitasking GUI operating system by Ville Mikael Turjanmaa, designed for Intel x86 compatibles. It is very small, it fits on one 1.44 MB floppy disk. It is work in progress right now and not every piece of hardware is supported by now. However, it features an assembler IDE including a MENUETOS port of the famous Flat Assembler FASM. I use this page to release the things I've made for MENUETOS. Not a big lot ATM. FASM Projects I have made for the MENUET operating system: 3D maze and 3D engine.

  NetBSD/amiga
  Author: n/a   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1502
NetBSD/amiga is the port of NetBSD to the Amiga line of personal computers by Commodore and Amiga International, and to the DraCo by MacroSystem GmbH. Development activity on NetBSD/amiga continues at a speed dependent on people's spare time. Currently, NetBSD/amiga runs on any Amiga that has a Motorola 68020 or better CPU with some form of MMU, and on 68060 DraCos. For 68020 and 68030 systems, a FPU is recommended but not required. 68LC040, 68040V and 68LC060 systems don't work correctly at the moment.

  No Amiga To Waste
  Author: G.Bevin   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1451
DESCRIPTION OF THE SITE'S PURPOSE. PROBLEMS:A lot of commercial software houses have left the Amiga society and less 'state of the art' programs are released. Inspired and skilled programmers have become rare 'cause a lot moved over to other systems. Public Domain authors tend to have a strange habit of 're'-programming the same software tools over and over again. CONCLUSION:Make sure that every programming effort provides a final product that is useful, original, easy to use and up to date. SOLUTION: An online database that collects ideas, comments and wishes of the users. The contents can be freely consulted as long as every programmer reports what idea he's working on and how the development progresses.
