Ah, the bad old days, before Linux, when a hacker who really wanted to get into the guts of a system had to reverse-engineer it. I had an Amiga and the operating system was in my opinion the best available on a consumer microcomputer at the time, but I didn't like it that much. {...} Anyway. In 1989 I knew I'd be writing my own SCSI device driver sooner or later, and, to really get a feel for what was going on, I started to disassemble the OS kernel (known as the "exec") to see how the I/O functions worked. That was pretty interesting - I had just taken a real time OS course at university, and here was a real live one to take apart - so I ended up disassembling the entire exec. |

Welcome to the Amiga Games Database. It's purpose is to provide Amiga games players with an informed but subjective opinion on a wide range of games. A vast amount of Amiga titles have been written, some of them more than a decade ago. We've all come across some awful software in our time, but for many of us, there's a surprising quantity of undiscovered classic Amiga games out there. The AGDB is here to help you identify them. Almost 900 reviews!!! |

This site has always been dedicated to Amiga Games and still is! We have just added even more products, so take a look around, and please join our mailer. To make it even more convenient for you our customer we have now intergrated our other site Amigautils into this site! Now you can do all your Amiga shopping in one place. We Guarantee that we are 100% Amiga. You will not find any PC, MAC or any other *platform games on this site. We have been trading in the Amiga games market for several years, and decided that we wanted an online store totally dedicated to the Amiga Games market. |

Amiga Guardian is a snapshot and recovery utility exclusively for the Commodore Amiga — think System Restore on Windows or Time Machine on the Mac, finally on the machine that deserved it first. WHAT IT DOES Guardian takes a snapshot of the files you tell it to look after, and puts them back exactly as they were — a single file, a drawer, or an entire drive. The point is to make trying things safe. Install a program, edit your Startup-Sequence, let an installer do whatever installers do — and if it goes wrong, go back to the snapshot and the machine is as it was. |

A patch that adds custom levels to Amiga Lemmings (1991): an in-game level editor that runs natively on the Amiga, inside the original game and its engine. No External tools are needed to make a level. On the title screen, CUSTOM follows FUN, TRICKY, TAXING and MAYHEM, with a list of your own levels, for one or two players, and New Level to create one. Levels are saved on a level disk and can be shared as .lvl files. For floppy (A500) and as a WHDLoad install for hard disk. |

If your a fist time visitors, this site is dictated to covering all information on the next generation of Amiga`s. With the imminent arrival of the Amiga One, Amiga OS 4.X and Amiga DE, the future of Amiga has never looked healthier. All these products need a web site to report on them, and this is just one of them. AmigaNG started way back in Feb 1999 to cover news on the Amiga MCC (later cancelled), it is now one of the longest running next generation site. Its not official, and is not sponsor, but is done out of momentum. Enjoy the site. |

On this page you can download some extra material for Quake 2 for the Amiga. If you do not know where to get Quake 2 for Amiga from, check your local Amiga dealer and ask him about it. Quake 2 was ported to Amiga by Hyperion Entertainment based on the GPL'ed Quake 2 Code. The package Amiga dealers have in stock includes an original Windows Quake 2 CD containing the Quake 2 Datafiles. |

{{ARCHIVED}} Welcome to my Amiga Software Archive! I would like to take a moment and tell you why I am posting this software. I am not trying to post pirated or illegal software but software that you cannot purchase anymore from Amiga, Inc. I am a long time fan of the Amiga and as an owner of two Amiga 1000s and one Amiga 2000, it was very hard to find drivers and system software for my computers. Since Amiga, Inc. does not support these machines anymore I had to find the software for them on the Internet. Now I am not faulting Amiga, Inc. for not supporting these machines because they are very old however I also think Amiga, Inc. should allow drivers and original system disks (Kickstart/Workbench 1.0 to Kickstart/Workbench 1.2) to be freely copied since they are really no use to Amiga, Inc. anymore. TONS OF SOFTWARE DRIVERS AND DISK IMAGES!!!!! |

Amiga will change the way we use cell phones, computers, and other information appliances by removing the barriers between different computing systems. The Amiga SDK 1.01 is the first step to creating applications that are indifferent to the underlying hardware or software platform. |

TN3270 is a specialized subset of telnet used to communicate with IBM mainframe computers through special servers. Although probably most useful to those, such as myself, that must use the big blue boxes for a living, there are occasional tn3270 services scattered about the net, (and even as web tn3270:// url's) which are available to the public at large, including many college and university library catalogs. |

Welcome to the home of the "Metallic" distribution of Amiga Web Server (AWS) which was originally created and developed by Mike Meyer. The Amiga Web Server (AWS) is a lightweight, multithreaded web server written specifically for the Amiga, designed for both quick performance and low system impact. It is currently in beta test. The distribution directory is available at the same site as the CNet Amiga and AmiFTPd distributions. Special thanks to Mike Meyer, the original programmer and maintainer of AWS, for allowing us to continue his work where he left off. |

It was many years ago that Amiga Flame exclusively reported that Phantasmagoria was coming to the Amiga. There was great deal of excitement judging by my filled mailbox, but after a few years, all talk of Phantasmagoria died out. It had seemed that Phantasmagoria had fallen by the way side. However, Alive Mediasoft has announced this week that Phantasmagoria, a very scary adventure game is to hit the Amiga {...} The Pulse has exclusively interviewed Roberta Williams, the creator of this interactive horror, with this issue expected in February. Also on Alive Mediasoft's CD catalogue 1.6 there is a world exclusive trailer of the game, and they are currently working on a demo. |

You might wonder what this site is all about, well here it comes: I have bought the SDK myself and have found it very interesting to work with. However I thought it lacked documentation, tutorials and examples for a beginner like me. I have been hanging around at the #developer channel on Exodusnet and participating on mailing-lists and have got a lot of tips and help by being there. Good. Still, two reasons made me make this site. The first one is that I think the sites that exist and that focus on AmigaDE are either very poor on information, not updated enough or half-hearted. The second reason is all the information that flows around on mailing-lists and IRC should be gathered and archived some place and should be available for far more people than those active on IRC or ML's. So, there you have it. |
