Galaga for the Amiga 500: a port of the 1981 arcade game, written in 68000 assembly for a stock A500 (OCS, 512 KB of chip RAM, Kickstart 1.3, PAL). It is not an emulation. The enemies fly the arcade's own flight scripts, arrive in its waves, dive on its schedule and drop bombs by its rules, and the sound is the arcade's sound driver ported to Paula. Each of those was checked against the arcade running in MAME. The rest is made for the Amiga: the formation is drawn as blitter strips, the fighter, its shots and the stars are hardware sprites, and the game runs at arcade speed on a 50 Hz display. |

Introduction - Hyperion have put up some screenshots of the look and feel of AmigaOS4 at http://www.os4.hyperion- Software.com / Screenshots / screenshots.html. These are not the final look and feel of AmigaOS4, but in a fit of boredom I have decided to see what I can do with them to make them look nicer in my opinion. One of my key design issues is that the changes I make can be replicated with code easily - I will only try and do straight lines of colour, or blocks of colour. There will be no fancy pixmap addition here. |

*** NEWS ***I've decided to cease support & development of AmigaPython. Please let me know if you're interested in taking this job. You'll also become the new owner of the AmigaPython homepage. *** Python is an interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic semantics. Its high-level built in data structures, combined with dynamic typing and dynamic binding, make it very attractive for rapid application development, as well as for use as a scripting or glue language to connect existing components together. Python's simple, easy to learn syntax emphasizes readability and therefore reduces the cost of program maintenance. Python supports modules and packages, which encourages program modularity and code reuse. The Python interpreter and the extensive standard library are available in source or binary form without charge for all major platforms, and can be freely distributed. Python is © Stichting Mathematisch Centrum Amsterdam (Netherlands). |

What is SSH anyway? In short, SSH is a new remote login protocol making the connection secure. If you want to know what SSH in general is go to the home of Ssh and follow the links from there. SSH on the Amiga? Yes! Of course! AmigaSSH is based on version 1.2.26 of ssh and version 3.12 of napsaterm. I have integrated parts of ssh into napsaterm. I have also created z.library which contains the compression-routines (from z-lib 1.0.4). At the moment I have napsaterm with ssh-support and ssh-keygen up and running. |

Amiga owners here's another interesting news story to talk about, as developer Grzegorz Korycki, who was mentioned by us previously for his work on OpenTTD for AmigaOS 68k, is working on a port called AmiGTA1. This ambitious project is a ground-up reimplementation of the 1997 classic Grand Theft Auto engine specifically optimized for native AmigaOS 68k systems. |

AmiGuard is an open-source antivirus for classic Amiga systems, targeting AmigaOS / Kickstart 1.2+ and Motorola 68000. To build trustworthy detections, we need authentic historical samples that can be analyzed and verified safely. Why we are asking for samples? We do not want to guess. A named virus should only produce an INFECTED verdict after its detection has been backed by an actual sample, independent analysis, clean-corpus regression testing, and native Amiga runtime qualification. |
