  And So It Begins... {ARCHIVED 03 Sep 2000}
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5521
  A new year, a new owner for the Amiga. Amino, the company formed by Fleecy Moss and Bill McEwen to continue the digital convergence ideas of the Collas-era Amiga, announced that they had purchased the Amiga lock, stock and barrel from Gateway. Okay, Gateway still retain the patents, but at least Amino have, as part of the purchase agreement, gained access rights.

  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3315
  Christie’s is honored to present Andy Warhol: Machine Made, a ground-breaking online auction of five unique NFTs (non-fungible tokens) of digital works created by Andy Warhol in the mid-1980s and recovered from obsolete floppy disks in 2014. Created in a paint program on Warhol’s Commodore Amiga personal computer in the mid-1980’s, the group of five works includes two self-portraits, his signature flower, and Campbell’s soup can motifs, and a rendering of a single banana on a blue background.

  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4797
  ...The sale success again underscores Andy Warhol’s stature as the reigning king of Pop Art, now in both physical and digital-native art forms. Originally created in 1985, Andy Warhol’s ‘Amiga’ drawings were meticulously restored from obsolete floppy disks in 2014. For the Christie’s sale, The Andy Warhol Foundation exclusively minted five unique NFTs that point to restored and preserved files from the 2014 project.

  Animanu {ARCHIVED 3 Jun 2007}
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3834
  D rawing has always been a great interest of mine. After getting an brand new Amiga 1200 in the early nineties I also started playing around with animation. With a greyscale scanner from Datel Electronics in the UK I produced my first animations on my Amiga. I also started to learn to use the 3D rendering package “ Imagine”. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to continue this hobby but I hope to do something new in a not too distant time. Here you can see the results of my experiments. Some of the animations was for a local TV broadcast station (JTVP) that used Amiga. They had a text & image sequence made in Scala that showed all kinds of information when they had no program to send. It was no commercial TV station.

To illustrate how much easier and faster it is to program using our framework, below are two C programs doing exactly the same, wait one second and then display the words "Time is up!". The one on the left uses API2, the one on the right uses only the standard functions provided by AmigaOS.

  Apollo
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3235
  Apollo is an experimental operating system for the Amiga 4000 computer with support for user and kernel space concurrency and reentracy. One aspect that sets it aside from traditional threading-based OSs is that it is purely built around dispatch queues similar to Apple's Grand Central Dispatch rather than threads. So there is no support for creating threads in user space nor in kernel space. Instead the kernel implements a virtual processor concept and it maintains a pool of virtual processors.

  Apollo Vampire V1200 Review
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2585
  After months of being on the waiting list, I recently recieved my Apollo Vampire V1200V2 accelerator! Since then, my Amiga has had a new lease of life so I thought I’d write an update covering all the stuff I would have wanted to know while I was waiting for the package to arrive. What follows is a review/retrospective on my first month or so of usage of this card – I’ll cover the ordering experience, hardware, installation, updates and software and wrap up with my thoughts and reflections on the project.

I find that building and maintaining a resource like this is very helpful for myself and sharing it without warranty for others to use at their own risk.
