Blender’s prehistory - Traces on Commodore Amiga (1987-1991)
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4506
Today Blender is one of the industry leaders, but it started quite small, three decades ago. If you ever wondered when and where some of the most iconic Blender conventions like "right-click select" or 3D cursor originated, it’s then, in the Amiga era, even before Blender was born.

Bluer than velvet were her SCSIs
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4749
If you need a SCSI hard drive for your old computer, there are a lot of great options becoming available for a solid-state substitute. A great one of those options is the BlueSCSI, and I’m not just saying that because I won a free one. It’s because I won a free kit, so I got to put it together myself.

Books You Should Read: Bil Herd’s Back Into The Storm
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2833
This is the premise behind our Hackaday colleague Bil Herd’s autobiographical chronicle of time in the mid 1980s during which he worked at Commodore, maker of some of the most iconic home computers of the day. We follow him through the three years from 1983 to 1986 as hardware lead on the “TED” series of computers including the Commodore 16 and Plus/4, and then the Commodore 128, a dual-processor powerhouse which was arguably the last of the big-selling 8-bit home computers.

Booting from a hard drive with the Amiga 500 (kickstart 1.3) on the Replay
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5033
One way of booting harddrives on the Replay is by using hard disk files (HDF’s). The Amiga 500 (kickstart 1.3) had no native support for harddrives though, so we need to patch it in. We want to add IDE support to the kickstart, and this patch will, don’t let the SCSI part of the name confuse you. I will not go into the details on why it’s called SCSI patch, but this is the one to use. It’s a backward compatibility thing.
