The target of the Quark microkernel is to provide modern functionality for a new OS layer and to run most amiga(TM) applications as efficiently as possible in a box enviroment without having old amiga(TM) custom chips available. The goal is NOT to run every single amiga(TM) game/demo ever written as this would forbid certain optimizations, but to run a large amount of the the current base of amiga(TM) application software. |

Many people are "not amused" about the Software Situation at the Amiga market. For a long time there wasn´t Updates in Software that could be used in private offices. The only active supportet Amiga wordprocessor is Amigawriter, that is not enough. So i am searching for Amiga User that whant to help me port OpenOffice for the AmigaOS4 and Amithlon. Why Amithlon/x86? I see in Amithlon a chance to bring the AmigaOS back into the Userminds. The other thing is, that my A4kPPC is dying, so if the Computer is dead, i can even code or coordinate the OpenOfficePort. Who whant to help me, please write |

Inspired by the Debian User Worldmap I thought why not make this for the other operating system users as well. Are there more Debian or Redhat users? What OS is most spread in what country? Debian users are not yet in these stats as they have their own worldmap for now with two months data ahead. Zoomed maps may be added at a later time, check back from time to time. If you wonder how that looks like, check the Debian User Worldmap. |

"Origin of a Browser" is a project dedicated to web archaeology - the study and preservation of rapidly disappearing artifacts associated with the Early Netscape Period. In October of 1994, Mosaic Communications Corporation (renamed "Netscape Communications" on 11 November 1994) introduced the first public beta of their browser, "Mosaic NetScape." Those interested in this era will note that many of the web pages, images, and other artifacts dating from this time have been lost because of the ever-changing nature of the Internet. In fact, older versions of the Netscape browser itself are becoming increasingly endangered, particularly the pre-release betas predating version 1.0. |

This is a conversion of the original PDF document which has since been converted to an even better HTML conversion than mine. The orignal version can be found here on the Amiga Inc's website. Could you please follow that link to the original as Amiga Inc are using the hits they get as a way of gauging interest. The NCAUG user group of Washington DC area graciously allowed me to demonstrate my Pegasos Betatester and bring all our members up to speed on the latest MorphOS developments. The meeting was in a special area of a public library in a nice wooded bit of McLean. The NCAUG flyer described the event as the "first known US demo of MorphOS. |
