- A multi-platform C64 music player and SID chip emulator - Basically, SIDPLAY [1] is just an ordinary music player software. More specifically, SIDPLAY emulates the Sound Interface Device chip (MOS 6581, commonly called SID) and the Micro Processor Unit (MOS 6510) of the Commodore 64 [2] on your computer. It is a platform independent software which emulates these hardware components. Therefore it is able to load and execute C64 machine code programs which produce music or sound. In general these are independent fragments of code and data which have been ripped from games and demonstration programs and have been transferred directly from the C64. For the Amiga, BeOS, OS/2 Warp, win. Mac, Linux and others. |

Hello and welcome !! ,you've reached the site of "Sixth Sense Investigations". "Sixth sense investigations" is the newest graphic adventure for the Amiga. It features cartoon graphics, interesting enigmas, many locations and a good technical implementation. System-X is a highly stable new BBS-System for the Amiga. A lot of it works like AmiExpress, which has been a worldwide used BBS-System in the past. However, System-X is not built from AmiExpress' source-code, like some other BBS-Systems. System-X has many features which make it a brilliant piece of software: It can handle up to 7 doortypes: AmiExpress (XIM), AmiExpress REXX (AIM), DayDream, DayDream REXX, Paragon/MAXsBBS, Shell/DOS/STDIO. Up to 256 conferences. Up to 256 fileareas per conference. Up to 500 messagebases per conference. And MUCH MORE!!! |

It is quite apparent that a cancer has grown in the Amiga Community, unchecked and at large, and it is well past time for those members of the Community that still care about its health to take matters in their own hands, and FOR ONCE, stand up for what is good, right and ethical, I.E: Defending the rights of a damned talented programmer in the person of one Bernd "Bernie" Meyer. |

THE AMIGA 4000. by Eddy Carroll, October 1992. In September 1991 at the European Developers Conference in Milan, developers were treated to a first look at the new Amiga graphics shipset, then known as the AA Chipset (AA standing for Advanced Amiga). Now, just over a year later, the first machines featuring that new chipset have arrived: the Amiga 1200 (see elsewhere) and Amiga 4000. |

D'Oh! The Amiga Monitor, one of the most successful and prestigious online magazines published during the history of the Amiga personal computer platform to date, is currently not being published. It has not been cancelled. However, its future is questionable because the one person most instrumental in creating and maintaining AM, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Mike Webb, currently does not wish to assume the responsibility anymore. |

The RSA Secret Key Challenge is about the need for stronger encryption for the Internet to safeguard privacy. To prove this need and to prove that current encryption strengths are insufficient RSA Labs have started a challenge to crack the DES and RC5 algorithms (RC5 in several different strengths) and tied an award of up to US $10,000 to each key found. In the late nineties several combined efforts have sprung up to crack these keys by using the distributed power of computers in a brute force approach over the Internet, so far cracking the 56 bit DES key (three times), the first three RC5 keys (40, 48 and 56 bit) and unrelated to the RSA contests, a 56 bit CSC key; several other projects some of which unrelated to encryption are happening or in the pipeline, such as Optimal Golomb Rulers (OGR). We aim to participate in these efforts for the sake of exposure for the Amiga. |

{{ARCHIVED}} If you're not already part of the Amiga flock, entering the cramped exhibition hall at an Amiga convention can be profoundly disorienting. Browsing through the software racks and glancing at the aging Amiga 500 and Amiga 1000 machines running demos at the AmiWest conference earlier this month in Sacramento, I felt as if I'd entered a parallel universe where software development stopped in the early '90s. |
