The Commodore Story: Gone But Not Forgotten. From the PET to the Amiga CD32
Author: Rob Thubron   Verified: Jul 27, 2026   id: 2206
What links the following? #1: a best-selling home computer, #2: one of the most beloved non-console gaming machines of the 80s and 90s, and #3: the first personal computer to sell over 1 million units. A lot of people over 30 will probably name a Commodore machine as the first computer they ever used, be it a Commodore PET in the late seventies, a VIC-20 or Commodore 64 from the 1980s, or even one of the Amiga line in the early nineties. Some will have played their first game on one or wrote their first program in BASIC, perhaps leading them to a life-long career in the tech industry-I'm one of many who owe a debt of gratitude to the company.

  The Comp.Sys.Amiga.Games FAQ
  Author: n/a   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 564
This document will hopefully answer some of the frequently asked questions so well that the questions stop becoming frequent, which will allow us to concentrate on discussing games instead of frequently answering frequently asked questions. Yes. If your question is about UAE, then the answer is definitely to be found in this FAQ! Read section 1. All of it! Thanks :-) And if you think it is okay to post binaries here, read section 4a! (quick answer: It is NOT)

  The DDLI Page
Author: Fergus Duniho   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 37
DDLI stands for the "Duniho and Duniho Life Pattern Indicator." It is a computer program that measures for the same 16 psychological types as the Keirsey-Bates Temperament Sorter and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. The DDLI asks you a series of questions in order to determine your life pattern. Besides asking questions about E-I, S-N, T-F and J-P preferences, as the MBTI and KBTS do, it also cross-checks by asking questions on IS-ES, IN-EN, IF-EF, IT-ET and Rational-Arational preferences.

The DraCo - 'Kissing Cousin', or 'Black Sheep' of the Amiga Family?
  Author: Steve Bowie - AUI-TechnoWorld Magazine   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1752
An Interview with Macro Systems GmbH General Manager, Jorg Sprave. In the many travails of the faithful Amigans, perhaps the current situation is the zenith of confusion. No less than a handful of pretenders to the throne are promising bigger, better, faster...who to believe? Will any of them actually bring a new 'Amiga' to market? Will the real Amiga please stand up?

The Illustrated Guide To Breaking Your Computer
Author: Tom Murphy   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1979
When you work in a job where you are constantly using computers for long enough, you develop a certain anxious feeling which can pretty much only be cured by beating the hell out of an old computer or two. However, since this can be extremely frustrating and nerve-wracking if done incorrectly, I am providing for fellow techies and interested persons an illustrated step-by-step guide for Satisfying Computer Destruction.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel
Author: John Chandler   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1657
One thing that anyone still using an Amiga has gained over the years is a sense of patience. No matter how tough things get, no matter how much the situation ups and downs, most Amiga users will remain fairly patient in the face of frustrations that would have owners of other platforms cursing and wailing. Yes we do get moments of despair, yes sometimes it does look bleak and you can be forgiven for losing the optimism and thick-skins built up in the post-Commodore years... but then things come along and suddenly everything looks bright again.

  The Machine That Wouldn't Die
Author: Fred Moody   Archived: 2000-08-16   Verified: Sep 21, 2026   id: 6076
{{ARCHIVED}} Once upon a time, there lived a breakthrough in computing—the Amiga A1000, which burst onto the market in 1985 as the first legitimate full-color-interface computer—in effect, a color Macintosh before the color Macintosh. (It also was the world’s first 32-bit PC, well ahead of the Mac and fully 10 years before Windows 95.) The Amiga was dedicated to multimedia before the term was even coined in the computer industry.

The Peon's Guide To Secure System Development
Author: Michael Bacarella   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1906
Motivation. Ever held a subscription to BUGTRAQ? If you happen to be filming a documentary about how suckass developers are producing the flimsy ripe-for-failure infrastructure of the future, a year long subscription to Bugtraq should give you a boat-load of leads to follow. Software is getting really bad. When software was just crashing a lot it was bad enough. Save often. Install the latest patches. The server has been up for a month straight? No shit. Reboot it just n case. As bad as that was, the Internet has made it so much worse. While the Internet itself is probably the most impressive thing that humanity has built to date, it also comes with some nasty stuff that we're going to have to deal with. Since everyone in the world is now milliseconds away from all of this high quality software running on your computers, you face a circus of grave security risks.

  The Wally Dug articles
Author: Wally Dug   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 1976
The Wally Dug articles were written over a period of approximately 18 months for the computer magazine JAM. Generally speaking, there were two types of articles written. Initially, the one-off Guide was written, but towards the end, a special series of articles, Hard Cases, came to the fore. The lists that follow are ordered by date written rather than publication date and will be published at fortnightly intervals.
