  UAE Amiga Emulator {ARCHIVED 30 Sep 2005}
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3245
  UAE is a mostly complete software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. A Commodore Amiga, for those who don't know, is a 16/32 bit computer system based on the Motorola 680x0 CPU and a few specially designed custom chips that provide very good graphics and sound capabilities. Its first incarnation, the A1000, appeared in 1985, followed by the highly successful A500 and A2000 models. UAE is written for Unixish systems; it is developed on a Linux machine but it should compile and run on any half-recent Unix-like operating system. It has also been ported to a wide variety of machines and operating systems, including DOS, Windows 95/NT, MacOS, RiscOS, BeOS and NextStep

  UF Project – Unicode Bitmap Font Engine
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3711
  The aim of UF Project is to create a simple engine for Amiga to display Unicode text using bitmap fonts. Note that I'm not going to introduce Unicode system-wide. Only applications explicitly using the engine will have Unicode capabilities. Rationale. Why bitmap, while we have TrueType? – Vector fonts are nice, but: Look bad in low resolutions on palette based screens. TrueType hinting helps, but modern fonts are usually not hinted. Require more CPU power and memory. Bitmap Unicode fonts may be used even on bare Amiga 500.

  Ultimate AMOS: The complete guide to games programming with AMOS
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5091
  The Amiga too has its own standard BASIC. In the early days it was the universally disliked AmigaBASIC. This disappeared from Amiga packs, and was not replaced by Commodore. At the same time, a new type of program appeared. AMOS was BASIC-based, but utilised the Amiga’s own custom hardware to provide a programming language which was not only easy to learn and understand, but extremely powerful too. AMOS has come to be accepted as the Amiga’s ‘standard’ BASIC. Although it can be used to program just about any application under the sun, its main strength (and the reason for its huge popularity) is its abilities as a games creator. The results can be stunning.

  UltimatePPC Accelerator for Amiga 3000/4000
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2827
  It’s not often you hear about new PPC-based accelerators for the Amiga, but today I received an e-mail from an Amiga user in Norway (Mads). He wrote me some words concerning an upcoming PPC-accelerator for the Amiga 3000 and Amiga 4000. Thanks a lot for the information mate. The board is called UltimatePPC and it is a multi-function CPU-card for the Amiga computers mentioned above. It plugs into the CPU slot of the machines. The specifications are very interesting.

  Unofficial CS-Labs Warp 3060/4060 Page
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 2520
  Why this page? I started it simply as a means of collecting all known Warp card info spread out across the web. My hope is that it's helpful to other Warp accelerator card enthusiasts out there; my interest is that I have an Amiga 3000 and Amiga 4000. :) It's a work in progress, and I trust that when/if CS-Lab has time to document and post more info, this site will perhaps become unnecessary. Check out the unofficial specifications list. **NICE**

  Unreleased Amiga Hardware Plays MP3s
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5641
  The MP3 file type has been around for so long, and is supported by essentially all modern media software and hardware, {...}, but not all computers in these eras could play this filetype. This includes the Amigas of the early 90s, with one rare exception: this unreleased successor to the A3000 with a DSP chip, which now also has the software to play back these digital tunes.

  Upgrade Pegasos II {CZECH}
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4471
  Everyone who has a powerpc computer at home, be it historical or "modern" (X1000) or modern (Power9) is limited by the compatibility of components. This is especially striking in the case of a combination of several operating systems on one computer. While, for example, disk controllers can be selected for all three OSes, the overall problem is in the issue of graphics cards. Since I recently upgraded an Amigaone X1000 with optimization to AmigaOS - i.e. HD7970, I wanted a faster computer for MorphOS. But the wait for MorphOS for Powermac G5 Quad or IMac G5 is still endless, and I didn't want to buy another white elephant - i.e. AmigaOne X5000 - so I decided to refurbish my Pegasos and optimize it for MorphOS.
