Thanks to the inclusion of Screamernet with Lightwave 4.0 and higher, you may use a single copy of Lightwave to render your work on multiple computer systems. This greatly speeds up your rendering time, and if you have several computers around, Screamernet is flexible enough to allow you to use Modeler on one system while the others are busy rendering.{...} But before you can 'start Screaming', you have to have a network up and running. Screamernet will use your existing network, it will not do the networking for you. |

Amiga A1100 by Miguel Fides is out. It was found on the Spanish retrowiki.es Forum site. Here the new Amiga A1100 was presented. In the news on Amiganews.de they reveal about the YouTube video too! On the Wikiretro blog, the official presentation of the original Commodore Amiga 1000 housing motherboard was announced on the 9th of February 2021. The idea of the post that was made is to test the interest of making the new Amiga 1000 clone. It is an replacement for a motherboard that is damaged or that only have the casing, because the plate has died etc. |

Amiga is indeed still alive and kicking, and have recently posted concept drawings for the next generation Amigas on their Website. The company is planning to release its next generation multimedia computer in late Q4 1999. According to Amiiga, the new computer will have a new Amiga operating system (OS 5 - a realtime, scaleable operating system for digital convergence and multimedia), advanced 3D graphics performance and multimedia features, and will be extremely easy to use. |

It's no secret that I love making music on the Amiga. I've recently made videos on the native Amiga soundchip, realtime Amiga guitar effects and even exotic Amiga soundcards, not to mention an EP of Amiga-based music, so today's news of a new Amiga sound card interested me greatly. AmiGUS, a Zorro II-based card (for so-called big box Amigas) features an updateable FPGA core, 24-bit Audio, 32 channels of PCM sound, hardware ADSR envelopes and crucially - an open hardware approach. My complete speculation, is that open-sourcing things means that versions for the popular wedge-shaped Amigas might be a possibility. |

After days of wild speculation and ridiculously fast-growing threads on AmigaWorld.net, we finally know most of what we need to know about the new Amiga. This is not just a random PowerPC evaluation board that you can stuff in a generic case – no, this is an all-new system with a custom motherboard, and some very, very interesting innovations – like a fully customisable co-processor. Twenty-five years after the introduction of the first Amiga, this is one heck of a machine. |

An oldschool Amiga demo for Deadline 2024 where it won the anaglyph 3D competition. “Anaglyph” meaning that you need a pair of red/cyan glasses to properly enjoy the effect – it’s an oldschool production in oldschool 3D! {Lots of detail of how the demo was made} |

I proudly present the new RTG-graphics board for all Bigbox-Amigas and the Amiga500: The GBAPII++ is now commercially available at kryoflux. The GBAPII++ is a ZorroII-card featuring the fast Cirrus GD5434 graphics chip and 2MB of video-ram. An automatic monitor-switch between an external VGA-source (e.g. flickerfixer) and the RTG-graphics is integrated. The card is developed, tested, approved and manufactured in Germany. |

For any Amiga 4000 hobbyists running a Linux m68k operating system, a PCI driver was finally published three decades later for Linux. Patches posted for mainline Linux kernel review today enable the Mediator 4000 PCI bridge available for the Amiga 4000 computer from the early 90's. |

In-development indie FPS Grind offers almost everything about Doom that was groundbreaking for the time: variable ceiling height, sector-based lighting, outdoor areas, angled wall geometry, and smooth full-screen rendering. Most impressively, it can do it on an original Amiga 500, released in 1987. |

New lore on “New Topaz” has dropped, i. e. the modernized sans-serif system font used in AmigaOS 2.0 and later. During the “Inside Commodore Amiga’s History” discussion panel at VCF East 2025, ex-Commodore software engineer Peter Cherna talked a bit about the overall new look introduced in 2.0 (still called 1.4 when he started), and the new Topaz font in particular: |

EXTRA! EXTRA! On March 27, 1997 Gateway 2000 (one of the largest U.S. based Intel clone manufacturers) officially purchased all rights to the technology and intellectual properties of the Amiga computer! Initial electronic press releases are short but promising: Rick Snyder, president and CEO of Gateway 2000 states that the "aquisition is good news for Gateway and customers of AMIGA," and that it will "strengthen [Gateway's] intellectual property position and invigorate a company that has been a pioneer in multimedia solutions and operating systems technology." Petro Tyschtschenko, who will remain president of the renamed Amiga International said that "Gateway 2000 will give us new life and energy for the future." |
