Amiga 1000: Ten years ahead of its time
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5416
On this day, 39 years ago, on July 23, 1985, Commodore introduced its Amiga 1000 computer. And let’s just say the world wasn’t ready for it yet. Dave Haynie, a Commodore engineer who worked on the later models, has said there was no such thing as a 1980s computer. There were 1970s computers and 1990s computers, and it was the Amiga that dragged the rest of the industry into the 1990s.

  Amiga 1200 LED assembly
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5391
I am far from the first person to make a new A1200 LED board. As I built a ReAmiga 1.5 I needed an extra LED board. I could have bought one but making something like this was a pretty good way to end a day of meetings and boring maintenance programming. The original used a rectangular lens with a pair of LEDs at its base. I've seen a single LED illuminating a light pipe, also a line of rectangular LEDs with no light pipe. I decided to try 3D printed light pipes.

  Amiga 1200 Motherboard Fixes
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5267
These are various fixes for different versions of the Amiga 1200 (Escom and Commodore) that will make the Amiga work better with an accelerator card from brands like Apollo and ACA. Note that Blizzard cards, albeit very expensive, are known to work without requiring these fixes.

Amiga 3000UX: More than a Toy but No Bargain
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5691
Amiga 3000UX offers SVR4 on an outdated chip without the Amiga PC's capabilities. Commodore is hardly a name you expect to hear bandied about in the UNIX workstation market. Yet, Commodore , positioning its Amiga 3000UX --stocked with UNIX System V Release 4 from AT&T, Open Look, and Ethernet support-- as a niche workstation alternative. Despite the good intentions, Commodore misses the mark with the Amiga 3000UX because of its small, 14-inch color monitor, limited software supply, poor price/performance, and no UNIX-to-DOS utilities.

Amiga 4000T: The Best Amiga in the World
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5382
Deep dive into Escom's Amiga 4000 Tower. There had never been an Amiga better than Amiga 4000T. The T stands for tower, but this computer did not stand out in Amiga history due to its format factor, as Commodore had already been selling the tower version of A3000. Rather, it was the ultimate Amiga in what many call today the "classic" series, and nothing better — or anything else for that matter — has ever been produced in the classic Amiga line since this model was released. Let us take a deep dive into what one of the first reviewers in 1994, the year when it was released, called "the mother of all Amigas" and appreciate some of its unique features.

Amiga 500 plus battery removal – how to
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5887
Got an Amiga 500 plus? Haven’t removed or replaced the motherboard battery yet? Well if you haven’t here’s the bad news; it’s got a good chance of having leaked on your motherboard. And if it has, and isn’t rectified that battery electrolyte could well eat away at the tracks on the PCB eventually rendering it useless. {...} This short tutorial only covers the removal of the battery, either by breaking away or desoldering. It does not cover the replacement of the original battery with a modern ‘coin battery’ and holder which can be purchased from the Amiga Kit store. I personally have never found a need to have a clock battery on my A500+ motherboard, therefore removal is all I cover here.

Amiga 500/2000 2MB Chip RAM Mod
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5552
This is an adapter board to retrofit a 2MB Agnus into an Amiga 500/2000 and also includes 2MB of chip ram. It is based on LIV2's design but is easier to solder and has been remade in KiCad 6. At present this particular design has only been tested on an Amiga 2000. It should, however, work on Amiga 500s as well, with the caveat that it might get in the way of the keyboard in the revision 5 Amiga 500 (if you try this please let me know).

Amiga 500: How Libraries Work and How to Use Them
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5801
Last time, we got a toolchain working that will let us compile code for the Amiga 500, and we compiled some code with it. Now let’s actually look at the code we compiled, and discover how it is that programs invoke operating systems services on the Amiga. {...} Using Libraries in C. Let’s start by considering the source code line by line. Here it is in a friendlier format than “typed into a screen-capped console window”:
