  Amiga file transfer
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3807
This page describes how to transfer data between an Amiga and a Linux based PC. I focus on mechanisms which can be used for stock Amiga systems. Network adapters exist for the Amiga too, so it can be connected to a regular network and corresponding tools for data transfer can be used, but this is not the scope of this document.

  Amiga floppy blog pages
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3555
The blog entries that are in the “Amiga Floppy” category make up the bulk of the content on the site about the Amiga Floppy Project. This project is the trials and tribulations of the making of an external amiga floppy drive controller. Attach a regular PC drive via IDE to the FPGA hardware, connect the FPGA via USB to a PC. Run the Java software, create .ADF images from the physical amiga formatted floppy disks.

  Amiga Floppy Drive Compatibility List
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3226
Since a disk drive is by nature a moving part, it is inevitable that it will fail someday. The vast majority of Amiga computers out there are least a decade old (some are nearly 20 years old), and so many users have had the misfortune of their disk drives dying on them. Replacing them is difficult because while Amiga disk drives are for the most part electrically compatible with those used in the Wintels of today, there are slight but vital differences in terms of both signals and pinout. The problem stems mainly from the fact that Commodore used low-density drives throughout the Amiga line up until the Amiga 4000 and 3000T. (After that they made things even worse by switching to custom-made high-density drives that spun at half the speed of a normal high-density floppy drive.) In contrast, low-density drives were quickly phased out of use in the IBM world sometime around the mid-1980s and can be found on only the oldest of machines. The aim of this guide is to provide information on which disk drives will work or can be made to work in an Amiga.

  Amiga Font Editor
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3896
Font Editor for AmigaOS 2.x/3.x. One piece of software I was missing in my Amiga times was a convenient Bitmap font editor. Commodore shipped one with the Kickstart 1.3 Extras disk but decided to discontinue that program with the introduction of Kickstart/Workbench 2.0. As I'd like to have some extra characters in the fonts I regularly use, as well as custom fonts for my own convenience, I looked into disassembling the abandoned Commodore FED sometime in the 90s.

  Amiga for Mortals
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4234
Hi I'm Andrew. I'm just a regular guy (and a bit of a geek) who is into retro gaming and computers. Having recently ventured back into the world of Amiga, I have a few projects on the go. Whilst researching online and looking for guides to help with my projects, I found that a lot of the information out there seemed to assume a level of background experience and knowledge that was above my own. This led to some frustrations, where I was unable to get things working.

  Amiga Forever 3.X ROM Improvements
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5680
Q: What are the differences between Cloanto's 3.X ROMs, and the original versions and updates released by Amiga? The 3.1 ROM, initially released in the CD³² hardware in 1993, was the last Amiga ROM version released by Commodore/Amiga. The 3.X series by Cloanto, first released in 1999, aims to remain as true to the original as possible while merging some essential updates, the most notable of which being the ability to boot from "large" hard disks. This was originally released by Amiga (under the ESCOM and Gateway ownership) as a "SetPatch", while the Amiga Forever ROM distribution made it officially possible to use it as a native ROM, without requiring a reboot.

  Amiga Game Scripting Languages

I was directed recently to a utility that laid bare the maps, items and other structures of the classic Bitmap Brothers' game Cadaver on Amiga. It was fascinating to be able to dig into how the game was put together, not least because I'm working on something very similar with my as-yet-unnamed Amiga isometric game.
