  Fresh Workbench Installation
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4710
As I go further down the Amiga memory lane rabbit hole, I ended buying a few actual real Amigas. The 600 and the 1200 both have an internal hard drive which allow the latest Workbench to be installed and booted from. Of course part of the fun in being able to do this from scratch. Turns out I’d forgotten a lot about the process, and on top of that a lot of new things have emerged since the last version of Workbench I used back in the days. For example, here I’ll be using Workbench 3.2 here so I’m not limited to any disk or partition size. I’m also installing the OS on a SD card plugged in to my TF1260 card’s IDE port so some steps below are specific to that.

fuseadf is a simple libfuse-based filesystem allowing to mount a volume of an ADF image (of an Amiga floppy or a hard disk) and to browse/read/write files and directories it contains. Volumes (partitions) can be chosen with -p option (not needed for images with one volume only, ie. floppy disk images). By default, it mounts volumes in read-write mode, for read-only -o ro option must be used.

Gamechangers – Jay Miner & The Amiga Computer
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5314
The story of Amiga is not just one of a forward-thinking computer design, even though that design became the standard for the systems we enjoy even today. It is also a story about the clash of industry titans, of a series of seized, as well as missed, opportunities. And, of course, there was a dramatic, last-minute, rescue.

Gameloft and Amiga Games to release 56 titles on Windows 8, WP8 before 2014
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5625
Sure, Microsoft's battle for next-gen supremacy starts in November, but those who lean on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 for their gaming just got a little something to look forward to. Gameloft is readying a total of 15 games that'll arrive within the next 12 months and launch simultaneously on both platforms. {...} The recently-acquired Amiga Games will churn out 50 titles of its own onto Microsoft's desktop and mobile OS before year's end, and could bump the total up to 500 afterwards.

  Gaming Magazine Covers From Afar
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5199
Gaming magazines can be simultaneously a challenging and an invaluable source for early histories of digital games and gaming. They were often produced and sold at low costs to make them affordable to their often young reader base. {...} These magazines offered the readers a sense of belonging within specialised communities. Understanding the homosocial aspects of the culture that, in our case, German gaming magazines represented therefore means understanding gaming magazines not only in their written contents, but also in their style.
