  rePlayer (another multi-formats music player)
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4693
With this piece of software, you can play a lot of oldschool music format from the old times, such as the Amiga (which was the original purpose of this player), Atari, C64, Nintendo, Sega... As a maniac collector, it started to get very annoyed to keep up to date with newer songs from an artist, check for songs duplicates, and also some missing playback functionalities. So I started to write my own player, first to play default modules from the amiga using ImGui (for the interface), OpenMPT (to play amiga modules) and libcurl (to handle the downloads from the websites).

Retro Wi-Fi On A Dime: Amiga’s Slow Lane Connection
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4671
In a recent video, [Chris Edwards] delves into the past, showing how he turned a Commodore Amiga 3000T into a wireless-capable machine. But forget modern Wi-Fi dongles—this hack involves an old-school D-Link DWL-G810 wireless Ethernet bridge. You can see the Amiga in action in the video below. [Chris] has a quirky approach to retrofitting. He connects an Ethernet adapter to his Amiga, bridges it to the D-Link, and sets up an open Wi-Fi network—complete with a retro 11 Mbps speed. Then again, the old wired connection was usually 10 Mbps in the old days.

Retrotechtacular: Amiga Pips The PC For Mission-Critical Computing At NASA
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5067
In 1986, a group of NASA engineers faced a difficult choice in solving their data processing woes: continue tolerating the poor performance of PC architecture, or pony up the cash for exotic workstations. It turns out that the Commodore Amiga was an intriguing third choice, except for the fact that, paradoxically, it didn’t cost enough. Oh, and Apple wanted nothing to do with any of it.

  Sam460 - PCIe pioneer
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4490
{Translated Czech} Even though the Sam460ex has been with us for almost fifteen years, it is a bit of an inconspicuous computer in the AmigaNG world. You won't find almost any blog or review about it. Maybe just a few videos on YouTube. And yet this computer is exceptional in several ways. So since I have had its latest version, the Sam460LE, since last year, I will introduce it a little.

  Sam460LE and A1222 Plus, a welterweight duel
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5014
Today, at the beginning of 2024, we are experiencing an unusual situation in the AmigaNG world. We have two entry-level computers to choose from: in 2023, ACube launched a new version of Sama460 - Sam460LE, and this year, after a long journey full of vicissitudes, AAA technology also introduced A1222 Plus. Concurrence of two computers of the same category is something completely unusual in the AmigaNG world, therefore it is often discussed which of them is which and who is better.

  Sampling sound on the Amiga
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5012
Almost any modern PC is capable of recording sound. I mean, even the sound interfaces that are part of the mother board nowadays have microphone connectors as well as line-in connectors. This was different in the days of the Amiga when a PC by default could only beep. At least each Amiga came with stereo line-out connectors that allows it to playback audio, but unfortunately none came with audio inputs. To be able to record sound on your Amiga additional hardware needed to be purchased. This article describes one example of such hardware, the "sampling cartridge" for the Amiga.
