"The Commodore Story" Documentary Premieres Today
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4653
What is it about a computer that was introduced 36 years ago by a company that would be defunct 12 years later that engenders such passion that people still collect it to this day? We’re talking about the Commodore 64, of course, the iconic 8-bit wonder that along with the other offerings from Commodore International served as the first real computer to millions of us. There’s more to the passion that Commodore aficionados exhibit than just plain nostalgia, though, and a new documentary film, The Commodore Story, seeks to explore both the meteoric rise and fall of Commodore International. Judging from the official trailer below, this is a film anyone with the slightest interest in Commodore is not going to want to miss.

% Most Influential Commodore Amiga Programs
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5077
Programs come and go. They’ll get updated, see revisions, and eventually may end up being discontinued entirely. And given how long Commodore Amiga has been around, there are plenty of programs that once saw the limelight on our favorite computer platform, but have since fallen out of favor. Lets take a trip down memory lane with these beloved but forgotten Commodore Amiga programs.

  (Amiberry powered) Lightwave Render farm
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4509
In the distant 1990, a 3D modelling, animation and raytacing package was released to the world: Lightwave 3D – it was originally running on Amigas with the Video Toaster card, but later became available as a standalone software package as well. It went on to become available to other platforms besides the Amiga as well (which had the last release with v5.0r), being used in multiple Hollywood productions and independent films, and is still around today. But we’re interested in the Amiga version here, and specifically what we can do with it today. Yes, we’re a weird bunch of people, I know…

This "how-to" is more or less a walkthrough made due to the high amount of questions regarding SFS posted on several forums and mailing lists. This walkthrough covers everything from editing the kicklayout to the usage of tools like Media ToolBox and it's divided into sections for easier reading. 1. SLB 2. Kicklayout 3. MTB 4. Shell Commands

  1550 MIPS Amiga - The Z3660 all-in-one accelerator. Part 1
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4683
  sHaNsHe (Double H Tech) has created a new all-in-one accelerator for the A3000 and A4000 Amigas, which has some neat tricks up its sleeve. I set up my card and benchmark it against other accelerators. {Review done by Wrangler Amiga. Normally I tend to stay away from youtube videos but this one is seriously worth it!}

1984 Amiga Presentation by Amiga Computer, Inc.
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4960
On June 14, 1984, Don Greenbaum, the Treasurer of Commodore International Limited, was at a secret meeting to negotiate the acquisition of Amiga Computer, Inc. This document was provided to Commodore by Amiga Computer, Inc to describe the Amiga computer. Don couldn't recall if the document was given to him at the June 14 meeting, or if he received it prior to the meeting. This document was generously contributed by Don Greenbaum.

25 years of Games That Weren’t
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5005
Games That Weren’t has been running for a quarter of a century this year, which is not only staggering, but also a bit scary if I’m honest. For 25 years, we have been documenting and preserving as much unreleased software as we can for a variety of platforms. Though it all began with just the Commodore 64 at the start, the machine I grew up with and still play today.

64-bit Odyssey 2.0 and JavaScript story
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4670
In this short article I’m going to show you different ways that upcoming 64-bit version Odyssey 2.0 can execute JavaScript code and performance implications of these choices. Some of the results are quite interesting, coming very close to modern-day (October 2024) Firefox performance. This is especially important taking into account that Odyssey 2.0 WebKit engine has been released in February 2019.

A simple AmigaOS GUI in assembler
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4963
This tutorial also fitted in as an example for my first book The complete source of the example can be downloaded from the downloads page. Since the book is also intended for assembly programmers I decided to produce a similar example source to do the same GUI related things in assembly. This post is not as much a tutorial but more a accompanying text to the assembly source, which has also been made available on the download page

  A.S.T. Amiga PAGE
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4871
I have written a program called ADF Sender Terminal, which should make it easy to get your ADF files back to your Amiga or from Amiga to PC. Since V1.2 both directions are possible. Transwarp allows a baudrate up to 115200 from Amiga to PC. V 1.3 and higher can send single tracks. This progarm is useful for Amiga Computers with little RAM (512k,1MB) System requirements: 32Bit Windows (e.g.: 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP)

A1222Plus up and running. What now?
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4966
So, the hardware is installed, and I've successfully booted from the Emergency USB recovery stick. What now? Partitioning the SSD drive of course. Now this may sound like a simple task and, in general, it is. The most difficult part is deciding how many partitions, what they will be used for, and how big each one should be.
