We had in our possession a broken Commodore Amiga A500 with workbench/kickstart 1.3 roms installed. The amiga was one of my favourite computers from my childhood so I was looking forward to restoring and possibly completing some minor upgrades and making a dream amiga. The first thing we needed to do was repair the Amiga itself and then look at the memory upgrade. |

Hello, I'm writing an Amiga game in assembly for myself and I thought that would be interesting to share the knowledge with other people. The tutorials will be addressed to beginners, the only pre-requisite is the knowledge of Motorola 68000 Assembly language programming. |

Here is a Picasso 4MB Flicker Fixed for Amiga 2000, 3000 and 4000. The Picasso graphic board is made of two PCBs. The main one includes the designs of the Picasso and of the Flicker Fixer. The second one is a little male slot connector PCB which must be connected into the video slot of the Amiga. It's used for the Flicked fixer. In an Amiga 4000, this little PCB is onto the same axis as the Zorro edge slot. In the Amiga 2000, it must be connected into the video slot which located between its PSU and its cover case. Two ribbon cables as used to connect this PCB to the Flicker Fixer part of the board. |

While researching a future post about the Copper functionality of the Amiga’s Agnus custom chip, I decided to really dig in and figure out how the Copper worked and how you would write some of the bare metal custom chip code. The process of making this video made me realize I need to do a few other posts before I can do one about the Copper, as there are a lot of prerequisites to understand it, at least at the level I am now able to understand it at. I also wanted to showcase a lot of the kind of music the Amiga was known for, module music made on music trackers. |

Amiga E is a programming language and compiler I started creating for the Amiga in ‘91, released publicly in ‘93, commercially in ‘94, and released as open source in ‘97. It was most similar to C++, in the sense that it was fast and weakly typed, and had a rich set of features from procedural, object oriented and functional programming languages. I wrote the entire thing in assembly language, which will always persist in my mind as the craziest software engineering exercise I have ever gone through (400kb of mostly uncommented assembly in a single source file, for a complex compiler). |

E is an object oriented / procedural / unpure functional higher programming language, mainly influenced by languages such as ++, Ada, Lisp etc. It is a general-purpose programming language, and the Amiga implementation is specifically targeted at programming applications. |

I was directed recently to a utility that laid bare the maps, items and other structures of the classic Bitmap Brothers' game Cadaver on Amiga. It was fascinating to be able to dig into how the game was put together, not least because I'm working on something very similar with my as-yet-unnamed Amiga isometric game. |

It is wonderful that in 2024 we have so many interesting brand new games to try out on the Amiga platform. For me I was surprised how many new games we saw released! |

Welcome to Amiga Games That Weren't. Legend tells of a breed of Amiga games that never crawled out of the primordial development swamp of their early existence. Games that never stood blinking in the sunlight of the gaming world. Games that were never devoured by predators of the Amiga jungle. They are the... Amiga Games That Weren't. |

We’ll cover how to install it into a 3D printed gotek mount in a later article and how to install an OLED screen. This will allow your gotek to fit snuggly inside your beloved Amiga with the case closed. |

It was time to say hello to my dusty yellowed friend and see if I could open it up and salvage the HDD. Well, not quite what I expected to find. It's either 60 or 80 megabytes, Conner. Metal cradle looks clamped onto board, but I was able to just pull it out. |
