Ultimate AMOS: The complete guide to games programming with AMOS
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5091
The Amiga too has its own standard BASIC. In the early days it was the universally disliked AmigaBASIC. This disappeared from Amiga packs, and was not replaced by Commodore. At the same time, a new type of program appeared. AMOS was BASIC-based, but utilised the Amiga’s own custom hardware to provide a programming language which was not only easy to learn and understand, but extremely powerful too. AMOS has come to be accepted as the Amiga’s ‘standard’ BASIC. Although it can be used to program just about any application under the sun, its main strength (and the reason for its huge popularity) is its abilities as a games creator. The results can be stunning.

  Untangle
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4721
Amiga port of a popular logic game. The Game. Untangle is a logic puzzle, where the player faces a set of dots connected by lines. Usually the set is untidy, many lines cross another ones. The game goal is to untangle lines by moving dots, so finally no line cross another.

  USB 27C400 EPROM Emulator
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4487
This module emulates and is pin compatible with the 27C400 4 Mbit (512Kb x8 or 256Kb x16) EPROM. The 27C400 UV EPROMs have compatible pinout with ROMs used in many computers and electronics from the 1990s. The Commodore Amiga 500/A600/A1200 and Acorn A3020/A4000 all used this ROM pinout. The module can be used as a drop in replacement for the ROMs in compatible systems.

  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4913
Using a PC oriented keyboard, and especially, one with a touchpad, can present challenges when used on an Amiga. In this blog, I'll outline the challenges, and present my solutions to make this keyboard very usable with the A1222 Plus. Many of these tips apply to other keyboards with other models of computers running AmigaOS4.

  Using MediaVault & mediavault_script (OS4)
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4514
So, in this entry, I'll provide an in-depth review of MediaVault v1.5.1 written by George Sokianos, who has made many great contributions to the AmigaOS4 community. I'll also cover using it with mediavault script version 1.6, which I wrote to allow choosing an audio player or saving the stream via a requester. MediaVault v1.5.1 is an AmigaOS4 program that allows you to search for and play streaming radio stations as well as podcasts.

  VIM
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4621
Quite a long time ago, Vim development started on the Amiga. Although it's a really old system now, it might still work. However, this has not been tested recently. You may have to use an older version for which Amiga binaries are available. For Vim 5.x and Vim 6 look in the amiga directory (ftp). Vim 7 files can be found at os4depot.net. This is for AmigaOS 4. Made by Peter Bengtsson.

  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4676
TL;DR Firefox with TightVNC server in a Docker container. I often work on vintage Unix Workstations and other obsolete systems. I have a need to browse modern web on old computers somehow. Enter VNCFOX – a Firefox browser with TightVNC server packaged as a Docker container. It’s small, lean, easy to run and there is no boot time and lengthy updates.

  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5155
WarpWebP.datatype is a datatype which allows you to view and read WebP image files. As far as I know, this is the first WebP datatype for AmigaOS 3.x or MorphOS. A unique feature of this particular WebP datatype is that in addition to supporting the 68k (with optimized versions for 020, 030, 040 and 060), it also supports the PowerPC processor, with native OS4, WarpOS and MorphOS versions.

  Weird Amiga 1200 Issue Repaired
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4961
In the last week, an Amiga 1200 was dropped off at my workshop to be repaired. That isn’t unusual, but the faults were unusual enough that I thought I should blog about them. The Problem... Just the motherboard was brought to me, and I was told that it would work for 15 minutes and then crash to a black screen. Sure enough, when I tested it, I could only run it for about 15-20 minutes at most.

  Welcome to Capitoline
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5175
  At it’s core Capitoline (Cap) is an Amiga kickstart editor, but like any software project, it’s grown arms and legs, added features which may or may not be useful to everybody. Main features: You can load ROMs in various different formats, decrypt, extract from ADF etc. Once loaded you can take a ROM apart, “ROMSplit” into modules then you can put a new ROM together “add” from these modules or other ROMs and ADFs. You can patch ROMs to change text or behaviour. You can save ROMs for burning to EPROMs (byteswap, interleave, split). You can create skick files for softloading Kickstarts or use within WHDLoad {and much more}
