Early Failures: Startups that Died of Indigestion (1970-90)
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5572
The startup and venture capital world went through a boom from 1981 to 1987. In hindsight, it was a precursor to the 1990s technology boom and bust (a much larger bubble). Three failed products exemplify the boom well: the Commodore Amiga, the Apple Newton, and the Go PenPoint OS. These promising failures show that the line between extreme success and bankruptcy can be a thin one. Product specs, marketing plans, and market readiness are important but are difficult to gauge.

  FDD - Diskettes
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5239
What is a diskette? Very simple, a diskette is a storage device for a computer system.. It is used to augment the computer's memory capacity. The information on the diskette can be deleted and/or updated. The recording process is similar to audio tape recording where sound waves of varying amplitude and frequency are recorded on magnetic tape--but there the anaology ends.

The FluxEngine is a very cheap USB floppy disk interface capable of reading and writing exotic non-PC floppy disk formats. It allows you to use a conventional PC drive to accept Amiga disks, CLV Macintosh disks, bizarre 128-sector CP/M disks, and other weird and bizarre formats. (Although not all of these are supported yet. I could really use samples.)

fuseadf is a simple libfuse-based filesystem allowing to mount a volume of an ADF image (of an Amiga floppy or a hard disk) and to browse/read/write files and directories it contains. Volumes (partitions) can be chosen with -p option (not needed for images with one volume only, ie. floppy disk images).
