Amiga’s AGA delay: impact on the evolution of Amiga custom chips
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5880
The Amiga platform, experienced a significant delay in the release of the Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA), also referred to as the AA (Advanced Amiga) project. This delay had a profound impact on the evolution of Amiga’s custom chips and the platform’s competitive position in the rapidly evolving computer industry.

  AMIPower
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5856
AMIpower is the most advanced power supply on the market for the Amiga 500, 600 and 1200 computers. {...} Unlike any other power supply on the market, AMIpower shows you the voltages being supplied on all rails, including positive 5 volts, positive 12 volts and negative 12 volts. That's right, your Amiga requires three different voltages for proper operation. Perhaps even more importantly, AMIpower provides a real time display of the 5 volt current being used - accurate to 0.1 amps.

  AmiTCP
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5734
In 1993, a group of students from the Helsinki University of Technology, caused great excitement in the Amiga Internet community by announcing a free implementation of TCP/IP for the Amiga which they had built as a part of a software engineering course. Until then, the only available Amiga implementation of the Internet protocol suite was Commodore's somewhat incomplete and costly AS225 software.

  amiwm
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5423
amiwm is an X window manager that tries to make your display look and feel like an Amiga® Workbench® screen. It is fully functional and can do all the usual window manager stuff, like moving and resizing windows. The purpose of amiwm is to make life more pleasant for Amiga-freaks like myself who has/wants to use UNIX workstations once in a while. It can also be used on the Amiga with the AmiWin X server, although this part needs some more work.

An FPPGA based Amiga – The Minimig
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5876
An FPGA-based implementation of the original Commodore Amiga 500 hardware is known as Minimig (or MiniAmiga). Minimig is now available for download as an open-source / open-hardware design with a single 12x12cm PCB with project and assembly instructions published under the GNU public license. {...} This document is my attempt to consolidate the very disperse documentation about the minimig and offer a concise guide if you want to build a board. Most of the websites that hosted files required are also offline currently. So I’m building a GitHub repository at

  An Introduction to Amiga Hardcore
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5759
{...} By the early ‘90s, then-dated Amigas had become the catalyst for a new wave of transgressive hardcore techno and breakbeat that reveled in a lo-fi, homespun sound—a reaction to the explosion of more commercial hardcore that was being made with newer software.

  And So It Begins... {ARCHIVED 03 Sep 2000}
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5521
A new year, a new owner for the Amiga. Amino, the company formed by Fleecy Moss and Bill McEwen to continue the digital convergence ideas of the Collas-era Amiga, announced that they had purchased the Amiga lock, stock and barrel from Gateway. Okay, Gateway still retain the patents, but at least Amino have, as part of the purchase agreement, gained access rights.

Apple rejected by Commodore, a look back 25 years later
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5571
Easy to see who got the better of that deal. Innovators reminisce about that relationship and others during the PC years. An Apple II PC being sold by Commodore International in 1982? It came very close to happening, but luckily for Apple, Commodore rejected the idea, instead going with its revolutionary Commodore 64.

Are you keeping up with the Commodore? Lyrics
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5916
I reveal the full lyrics to the famous commercial by Commodore for the Commodore C64. Everyone knows this advertisement by the chorus, Are you keeping up with the Commodore? Let us re-live the enjoyment of the original commercial and see what makes this adverisement so good. To my ears, the advertisement sounds as fresh today as it did back in the 1980s.
