AROS turns any PC into an Amiga with USB-bootable distro
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5555
{...} This month sees the release of a new portable distribution, which boots and runs entirely from a USB key, like a Linux distro. The image is a 3.2 GB download, which decompresses to a 16 GB disk image, and for decent performance you should use a USB 3.0 flash drive. The demo video shows it running top-down shooter BOH and the Odyssey web browser.

  AROS Vision
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5319
Modern and free Amiga-Compatible Experience on Amiga and PC. AROS is a open source implementation of AmigaOS, vastly compatible to AmigaOS 3.1 API. It is open source and you can easily help when you are a developer. AROS is crossplatform including X86, AMD64, PPC, ARM and 68k. Currently most active platforms are X86/AMD64 and 68k. Because it is adaptable and without legal problems AROS 68k is now used in different amiga related projects.

Foundation Imaging, headed by Ron Thornton, produced the special effects for the pilot movie and seasons one through three. {...} For the pilot, the effects were rendered on a network of Amiga computers; later, Foundation used 12 Pentium PCs and 5 DEC Alpha workstations for 3D rendering and design, and 3 Macintoshes for piecing together on-set computer displays.

  Because Amiga
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5706
So, you know I’m a sucker for vintage computing. I’ve been a proud owner of an original C64, an Amiga 1200, an Atari 130 XE, and a ZX-81, and a bunch of old peripherals and hacks that connect to them all in working condition. But today I got in the mail one very special rarity. It’s an original, unopened, white, brand new, from the warehouse, Amiga 1200 Magic edition sold to me directly by no less than the legendary ex president of Amiga Technologies Petro Tyschtschenko.

  Beginners guide to Arexx
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5225
{...} Arexx is an intepreted language just like Amiga Basic, but the focus is quite different. Where Amiga Basic was a language you could use to write small applications and games, Arexx is a tool for automation. In modern language terms I would compare Amiga Basic with Python and Arexx with PowerShell. That is exactly how different these languages are to each other.

A few weeks back, Christian "Perifractic" Simpson, former actor and founder of the Retro Recipes YouTube channel posted a video detailing possible plans to acquire Commodore. There is lots of history and backstory in the first video, but the gist is this: after contacting the current owners of the Commodore brand and trademarks for a potential licensing deal, the company itself was offered up for sale.

BRA and KET: String Interpolation in AmigaDOS
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5755
A Short Word on AmigaDOS Scripts. Without getting caught up in semantics, AmigaDOS in this text refers to the command line portion of the Amiga computers' operating system. AmigaDOS is based on TRIPOS, but was expanded and added to by both the original Amiga team and then Commodore. One thing that remains basically the same is the parser for shell scripts, or sequence files as they're called in TRIPOS. The script parser is reasonably competent for a 1980:s home computer OS and can be used for solving real world made up programming problems.
