Much more unlike a traditional video game system, the Commodore CDTV was an attempt by Commodore to bring up a multimedia platform that could connect to a television. The console was launched in March of 1991, running on AmigaOS 3.1 and also functioning as an average Amiga computer with modifications. The very high price range, limited user support and poor sales made the CDTV a forgotten component of the video game console industry. |

Released 1991: The CDTV (an acronym for “Commodore Dynamic Total Vision”, a backronym of an acronym for “Compact Disc Television”, giving it a double meaning) is a multimedia platform developed by Commodore International and launched in March 1991. CDTV was essentially a Commodore Amiga 500 home computer with a CD-ROM drive, remote control, internal RF-modulator and MIDI ports. With the optional keyboard, mouse, and disk drive, it gained the functionality of the Amiga. |

The Commodore CDTV (Commodore Dynamic Total Vision) is a computer in disguise - as an interactive multimedia and entertainment system, designed to complement the typical home entertainment system. It was launched in March 1991 at the winter CES in Las Vegas, and was the first CD-ROM based consumer device on the market, although others followed shortly after. |

Information on this upgrade to the CDTV is nonexistant. One would speculate that it was indeed designed as a high end upgrade to the CDTV, or perhaps to be sold alongside the CDTV as an advanced model. Either way, the CR in its name denotes that it was at least considered a "Cost Reduced" model (despite the enhanced featureset). From what little we do know, there were about 60 of them made, with some featuring hard drives, and others without the flopppy drive (covered, as in an Amiga 3000). |

If you’re a business leader, a manager, or a head of your department… You may very well understand the importance of leadership. Ever heard the quote that says, “A lousy leader may take a solid team and ruin it, driving the best workers away and demotivating the rest“? A good leader may take a company to the heights of success while a bad leader may bring a company to dust. Something similar happened to the computer manufacturing company, Commodore. Before getting on to what led to Commodore’s failure, let’s give you a small background of the company first. |
