  Demystifying WHDLoad
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4633
If you’ve not heard of it before, WHDLoad is a fantastic piece of software which streamlines the loading of games from an Amiga equipped with a hard drive. {...} In fact many Amiga games used a non-DOS disk format to perhaps squeeze a few extra bytes on, or provide copy protection, and if you pop one of these in to your Workbench environment all you’ll see is DF0:NDOS and no way to launch the game

  DICE-NX
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4551
DICE-NX is a C compiler suite for Commodore Amiga computers and for Motorola 68000-based embedded systems. It is a fork of the DICE product developed by Matt Dillon of Obvious Implementations Corp in the 1990s, now relicensed under the BSD License. DICE-NX aims to restart development of DICE with a focus on the modern retrocomputing scene, including support for the latest AmigaOS 3.2 line. DICE-NX is currently early in development. There is no packaged release yet, and building DICE-NX may be challenging!

  DiskFlashback
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4962
A Windows package to use Floppy Disk Images Files & Non/PC Real Floppy Disks in Windows, directly. I wanted to be able to access floppy disks from my Amiga, and other formats without having to boot an emulator. I wanted to be able to open a disk image file (like ADF, IMG etc) in Windows in the easiest way possible, as well as be able to use a real floppy drive too and see whats on it. So I decided to build this - which allows you to view and edit the contents of real disks and disk images directly from Windows Explorer, and yes, you can even read non-PC floppy disks in real time too (hardware required).

  DiskMaster2
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4675
DiskMaster2 is a file-manager for AmigaOS that I received the sources for in 1997 from Greg Cunningham. Over the course of more than ten years I moved it forward removing all assembly parts, porting it to GCC putting endless hours into it and countless lines of code and then adapting it for OS4 and using GUI classes when I was at first part of the AmigaOS4 Beta-Testing and later the Development Team. Around end of 2008 I gradually moved on and away from AmigaOS without realizing it at first.

  DIY Chris Lets Make Stuff
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4630
As a company, DIY Chris specializes in retro computing, more specifically in all things Commodore related. We started out by designing a C64 cartridge several years ago and just grew from there. We now spend a lot of time reverse engineering vintage electronics. We create schematics using modern tools while creating a faithful replica of the original... As our love for all things vintage and some current electronics, we don’t just design and reverse engineer but also repair and restore vintage systems for others. Our repair service includes but is not limited to computers and gaming consoles both vintage and current.

Do you want to find and watch YouTube content blazing fast?
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4800
For more than 3 years, I devoted a lot of time working on the aiostreams package for the AmigaOS 4 and MorphOS, making online video and audio streaming easier for the user, especially for websites that are resources hungry like YouTube and Twitch. Those websites need a lot of power and a strong web browser to work, which plenty of times the AmigaNG systems do not have. So I created a few python scripts, which can also be used on other system like Lnux and MacOS.

  Docs: TerribleFire accelerators
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4639
Information about Stephen Leary's TerribleFire line of accelerators for the Amiga computer. Due to some people blatantly copying and disregarding Mr. Leary's work, he shut down all his Amiga-related projects in September 2020 for some time, but since has found new motivation and is giving occasional updates here and there. *** This page is work-in-progress - please add your experience, know-how, corrections, contributions, etc. by leaving a comment, so we can make this a comprehensive documentation. Thanks! ***

  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4608
{ESCOM press release from the founder and president of frondesign from 30 May 1995} Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, {...} We all know what Commodore and Amiga meant as high-tech brands: Commodore was an affordable way to get into personal computing, the first Amiga machine actually was created just one mile off my house in Los Gatos - and personally I know some people who created the machine very well. But for some not so trivial reasons, the brands were managed out of the market. {...} We have set you three goals: Our new products will emerge from what Richard Wurman calls TEDology, or what Nicholas Negroponte calls the new domaine of "creative digital life"

Dune II: The Building of A Remaster
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4876
Documenting the development of a new Amiga AGA and OCS version. Dune II on the Amiga was a really popular game. Most gaming magazines gave it rave reviews and it can consistently be found on "Best Amiga Games Ever"-type lists. Despite all of those accolades, the game on the Amiga wasn't as good as it could have been... My goal is to document the creation of a remake of Dune 2 for the Amiga from scratch the way it was meant to be released and to right all of those wrongs — and more; there was no native PAL support, for example. I was on the original Dune 2 Amiga team at Westwood. Even though I did the bulk of the Dune II conversion, leaving Westwood before it was released was something I still regret, and so I want to give the Amiga community the Dune 2 experience they deserve.
