Booting from a hard drive with the Amiga 500 (kickstart 1.3) on the Replay
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5033
One way of booting harddrives on the Replay is by using hard disk files (HDF’s). The Amiga 500 (kickstart 1.3) had no native support for harddrives though, so we need to patch it in. We want to add IDE support to the kickstart, and this patch will, don’t let the SCSI part of the name confuse you. I will not go into the details on why it’s called SCSI patch, but this is the one to use. It’s a backward compatibility thing.

Building a custom A600 Kickstart with HRTmon
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4713
It’s not fair that Amiga 1000s and 500s gets to have all the fun with the Action Replay. But wait... There is a way to get the same functionality on an Amiga 600 or 1200. It’s called HRTmon. In order for this to work the same way as an Action Replay cartridge, HRTmon needs to be resident in ROM as part of the Kickstart. Here is how to do it on macOS...

  Building an Amiga 600 Junior
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4662
I bought an Amiga 600 on eBay that was in very nice external physical condition, but it wouldn’t boot. Replacing the reset circuit capacitor didn’t fix it either. Inspecting the board, I could see a lot of corrosion around many of the surface-mount capacitors. The board was beyond repair, at least with my skills. I searched online for replacement motherboards, and I found out about the Amiga 600 Junior.

Building an Amiga PSU around an RPT-75B
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 4952
A lot of people use Meanwell power supplies as the replacements for the poor quality ones that came with the Amiga. Typically, the 50W variants such as the RPT-60B are used because it fits nicely inside an original Amiga power supply. I wanted to see if I could use a 75W PSU for heavily upgraded Amigas. Here is the journey.

C++ considered Harmful (and why E is better)
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5050
This UNFINISHED article is my attempt to comprehensively catalogue most C++'s main failings, since I haven't yet come across anything that does so to my satisfaction. While it is based upon several years of thought on the subject, I may have made some mistakes, since I tend to steer clear of actual use of C++ where-ever possible.

I am finally authoring a blog post on an Amiga, albeit a emulator it seems to be working well. Using Final Writer 97 on CaffienOS. I am always amazed how many releases of Amiga OS there are and how many modern products continue to be developed. I believe the Amiga just refuses to die and lives perpetually at this point. Only time will tell whether a younger audience will come in to play and infuse more interest and this additional life. Many of us are getting older and that is the risk of the interest dwindling verses continuing to live forever.

  Cassic AmigaOS Programming
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5019
This book is an introduction to the programming of the classic Amiga OS using C as well as MC68000 assembly language. For the novice it will be an introduction into the basics of the Amiga and its OS, for the programmer who used to do this 30 years ago it will be a nice refresher. Since this book is meant as an introduction it will not cover every single function call of every single library of the OS, nor will it cover every single flag or option for the functions that are covered. It will, however, provide a solid base from where you can start writing your own software for the Commodore Amiga.

  CD32WB - Workbench CD for CD32
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 5065
I made a simple Workbench CD for the Amiga CD32, which can be used on an unexpanded machine. It needs no keyboard, can be used with only the joypad via an on screen keyboard. There are many game collection CDs available (some can even be used for listening .mods or watch .anims), but I missed the AmigaOS look'n'feel, so I made a system for myself. What can it do? You can listen to .mods, .sids, you can watch Amiga and scene related pictures, anims, try some games and demos, read documents (the complete AmigaDOS manual, the CD32 developer kit and many CD32 related articles from Aminet), you can browse other CDs, listen to audio CDs, and most of all, you can expand it to fit your needs, put your favourite games, demos, on it before you burn the iso, if you want.
