Hacking a Chinon FZ-357 floppy disk drive to an Amiga HD floppy drive
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3224
Standard disclaimer: I have only read this information in an old Hungarian Amiga magazine, and tried it myself. It seemed to be correct, and its result worked for me. However, I cannot guarantee that it would also work for anybody else, and hereby I present it on an "as is" basis, without warranty of any kind, so if you damage yourself, your disk drive, your Amiga, or anything/anybody else, it is not my liability.

Hacking Mac OS 7.6.1 to Work with Many OS 8 Apps
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3434
Blame it all on BBC, the British Broadcasting Company. I like BBC’s radio programs, but as my favorite operating system is Mac OS 7.6.1, there has been a problem called Real Player 8 (RP8). Regular OS 7.6.1 lets you use RP5, and the Appearance Manager brings RP6 (a.k.a. G2) in the game, but the BBC Radio Player needs RP8 to work.

Had Commodore not gone bust, and continued their line of Amiga computers, fast forward today. (Dave Haynie)
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3199
I can tell you what we had been working on prior to Commodore changing management, and extrapolate that, had they not hired the managers who bankrupted Commodore, and had they spent money more wisely, investing in technology instead of manager’s salaries, where things were likely to go.

  Hall of Light
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3464
The Hall Of Light (HOL) is an attempt to catalogue all games that were released commercially for the Commodore Amiga. Most games in the database are of the boxed, commercial variety but there are exceptions: Licenceware games are considered commercial enough to be included. Shareware, freeware and general Public Domain games are generally not present but they may be added if they form a fuller picture of a commercial person or entity. A number of unreleased Amiga games are referenced. The status of these games varies; some exist in a near-complete or demo form while others never progressed beyond the announcement stage. Some Open Source conversions (e.g. Doom) and games playable through interpreters (e.g. ScummVM or Exult) are listed. These are considered 'native' Amiga games. There are no downloads of the games in the database as the HOL is solely concerned with providing information. The HOL is a non-commercial project and does not generate any money.

How to Burn a Kickstart ROM for an Amiga 500
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3378
I found myself needing to update my Amiga 500 to Kickstart 3.1 to support my IDE device, which is a combo IDE / 8MB Fast RAM and uses an SD to 2.5 inch IDE adapter to utilize a 2GB micro SD card. That aside, I know that its possible to patch the 1.3 Kickstart with SCSI device drivers and then be able to boot Workbench 1.3 from the IDE but I didn’t want to mess with all of that, didn’t have the patience and just really needed to test if the IDE part of my IDE / 8MB Fast RAM combo worked. As with all things that I try to do, I find bits and pieces of information that I tend to compile into a fully working solution.

Interview with the creator of AmigaDOS
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3405
The Amiga is one of my all time favorite computers and a chance encounter via the Museum of Computing, where I volunteer, offered the opportunity to interview Dr Tim King and his wife Jessica about their important contribution to the release of the ground breaking Amiga 1000 computer. Without the TRIPOS operating system the Amiga's launch would have been seriously delayed. I am very grateful to Tim and Jessica for allowing me to take up so much of their time on the day of the interview. This was my first multi-camera, multi-mic interview! I hope you enjoy this fascinating interview.

Lupe V2.0 for Amiga 68K and MorphOS
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3390
You may remember this small program from the 90's and maybe you are still using it nowadays. We are talking about Lupe - the magnifying glass program. Lupe was originally released in 1995 and was developed until 1997 by Frank Toepper. In 2000 the source code was released and lay around untouched for centuries. Then in 2022, after encountering some problems with the old version I took the source code, ported it to AmigaE, fixed a couple of bugs and added some features. The result is: Lupe V2.0.

  MaestroPro Internal
  Author:   Verified: Nov 30, -0001   id: 3216
In the mid 1990s, MacroSystem Germany released the Maestro Professional sound card for the Amiga. It was a special sound card because it was fully digital, having only optical and coaxial digital connectors. It was suited for lossless recording from CD and DAT, as well as generating lossless audio output for DAT recordings. With tools like Samplitude, the Amiga became a studio quality digital audio workstation. There was also a tool for doing backups on DAT. At that time, these tapes were the cheapest way to backup entire harddisks (a 90 minutes DAT tape could backup almost 1 GB of data, which was a lot in the 1990s).
