People love their games machines. Genesis vs Super Nintendo. PlayStation 3 vs Xbox 360. Epoch Cassette Vision vs, er, the Arcadia 2001. If you've owned a gaming box you probably had a view on how it stacks against the competition. But how often do we factor in the controller? As the bit you actually need to get your feels on, it's important. Like, really important. With this in mind, let's take a gander at seven games controllers that didn't so much let the side down, as scuttle the bloody ship altogether. And there isn't an N64 controller in sight. |

This is the Amiga developement tools project that host a number of tools that can be used to develop applications for AmigaOS and Amigaoid systems. At the moment only the version for the latest AmigaOS version (4.x) is in a relatively good shape while this is probably not the case for the other systems. |

vLaunched in 1985 the Commodore Amiga boasted graphics capabilities that were unsurpassed for it's time. It featured an intricate collection of custom chips that enabled it to do things that, until then, had been impossible to achieve with other personal computers. This site is dedicated to graphics made with or for the Commodore Amiga home computer. |

A very brief and high level look at the history of logos used by the company that brought us the Commodore 64. From their humble beginnings in 1958 as Commodore Portable Typewriter Company Limited, to the creation of the famous "chicken lips" logo in 1965 when they were called Commodore Business Machines (Canada) Limited, to their demise in 1994 as Commodore International Limited. |

I’m considered to be a server guy. I had access to some really awesome server machines. Still, when computers come up in discussions, we are almost exclusively talk about workstations. Even if servers are an important part of my life, that’s “just” work. I loved the SGI workstations I had access to during my university years. Many of my friends still occasionally boot their 30 years old Amiga boxes. |

What you have here is the first set of documents from old Commodore that I managed to assemble. This is definitely a work in progress, and it doesn't progress fast. Much of the Amiga stuff was done on Amigas, but unfortunately at different times. So I didn't necessarily still have the programs necessary to read and convert some of this documentation to ASCII and/or the portable document format (PDF, Adobe's Acrobat format, as close as you're likely to get to a universal format). {Buster, AA- Lisa, A2620, A2330, A3640, A3000+, A2631, Acutiator, Gemini, NYX, AAA, Zorro III and more!!} |

This site tells the story of me and a friend of mine trying to upgrade an Amiga 600 to the max. Why would you want to do so? Well, hard to explain. It's a freak thing. So if you don't like the Amiga or even don't know what it is, if you've never experienced the wish to do something crazy, well then you better stop reading now. This project was completely irrational -- and therefore one hell lot of fun! |

This is a Who's Who of classic game designers and programmers, where classic refers to pre-NES 8-bit systems: home computers (like the Atari 800 and Apple II), consoles (like the Atari 2600 and Intellivision), and arcade coin-ops. Games for later platforms are included to show the history of designers that started with 8-bit systems. |

It was called UltimatePPC, and... yes. And yes. And yes. It is what it sounds like. No strings attached. It's the thing only few dared to imagine, because it was just too... outrageous. And it actually got built. |

Who owns the Commodore brand? Why are there loads of products using the Commodore name? What is this apparent new computer that is being brandished about by a company called Commodore Business Machines. What in the world is going on? That’s what this investigative episode is going to ask. |

There is a playful way to study the architecture of computers of the past. Find a piece of software you know well and try to find out how it was ported to these machine you don't. An other choice would be Eric Chahi's 1991 critically acclaimed[1]" title "Another World", better known in North America as "Out Of This World" which also happens to be ubiquitous. |

But can it play Doom? A question we all asked, repeatedly, throughout the early to mid-1990s. As Commodore’s Amiga had dragged itself, almost kicking and screaming, from the high-priced, productivity-focused world of workstations and onto desks of regular punters around Europe (‘the world’ would be pushing it), it felt like there was nothing this computer couldn’t do. |

The X500 Plus is a computer case I designed as a tribute to the computers of the ’80s and ’90s and it’s overall inspired by the Commodore Amiga 500. It’s a wedge styled computer case with inbuilt, full size keyboard. The X500 Plus has a retro feeling but with modern, clean lines and lots of internal space. It’s made of aluminium, plastic and steel and it’s designed for modern computer hardware. The X500 Plus allows you to build your own modern, powerful computer, with your choice of components and Operating System like Windows, Linux, AmigaOS, AROS, MOS etc…you can use it for your mini-itx x86 motherboards, PowerPC boards such as the SAM motherboards by ACube, the Natami and the upcoming FPGAArcade Replay board, basically any board which is mini-itx or flex-atx format with low profile heat sinks (overall internal height is 52mm). |

UAE is a mostly complete software emulation of the hardware of the Commodore Amiga 500/1000/2000. A Commodore Amiga, for those who don't know, is a 16/32 bit computer system based on the Motorola 680x0 CPU and a few specially designed custom chips that provide very good graphics and sound capabilities. Its first incarnation, the A1000, appeared in 1985, followed by the highly successful A500 and A2000 models. UAE is written for Unixish systems; it is developed on a Linux machine but it should compile and run on any half-recent Unix-like operating system. It has also been ported to a wide variety of machines and operating systems, including DOS, Windows 95/NT, MacOS, RiscOS, BeOS and NextStep |
